This morning was a super rushed one for me as I had a few deadlines that were due by noon and had about 30+ pages of readings to complete before 7pm! Adding on to this I had a 8.30am meeting with two new team members for a business process project; Arthur and Penelope (yes, her name is damn unique).

Miraculously I somehow managed to finnish 3 deadlines + 1 meeting + 1 long phone conference call by 1145 am! What an achievement right? To reward myself, Arthur and Penelope was very nice to accompany me to Clark Quay to savor this Bak Kut Teh (map) opposite Central Mall (map).

Introducing Arthur and Penelope…

All these photos are taken and editing using my iPhone, so it’s abit cui… Sorry…

I’m really excited, because this is the first time I am drinking Chinese tea at a Bak Kut Teh place… I know very sua ku, but…. It was damn fun…. I think this is called “ya pian” or duno what pian.

Oh my… Look at these small cups… Must drink how many cups then can quench my thirst? I NEED TO ATTEND TEA APPRECIATION CLASS!

Woops… It’s called 香片 (xiang pian), not ya pian… Just remembered ya pian is some drug.. hahaa…

Arthur’s steady hands…

This is the “first round tea”, which technically is not good for drinking. Arthur said the first round must pour away, after that then can drink, so not so bitter.

OOoh… Look at my deliciously yummy Bak Kut Teh… Yummy… The soup can refill for free.. Free的!

Notice? It does not come with 油条 (you tiao). So if you want, please order it as a side-order. I have to say this play is quite decently priced (SGD 10 each) for the location and quality of food. I highly recommend this place and founder’s bak kut teh if you want to host your foreign friends to a local feast.
After that, I went back to office to collect my Gmarket delivery… Yay! Finally after 6 weeks… Guess what? To make up for the late delivery, they gave me two small bottles of perfume which I gave to my nicest group mates. ![]()
The past weeks had been crazy and I still have a whole lot of videos which I’ve uploaded but not converted them to blog entries yet. Taking a break off the heavy readings, assignments and work to finally do this quick update..

Doing up my new hair-do and color at Jeric Salons @ Ion.. Really liked the blond and ash color combination that japanese stylist Tetsuya did. Sadly.. The ash had faded already… Going back for re-color soon. =)

Really loved this Korean Spicy Soup at the food-court at the basement of some hotel between OG and Istana.

My mobile fragrance set… I am someone who really can’t stand people smelling like crap, not tidying their hair and wearing un-iron-ed cloths when they go out. Just a show of disrespect for others…

I visit the salon to get my hair styled… This is my first attempt at styling it myself. *grins*

I’ve been getting too round lately and I’ve to find a fun sport that I like, that allows me to sweat a bit. Joined bowling recently (although it doesn’t help me really sweat), but it’s fun and got to know many new friends through it. My attempt at Tampines Safra after zero-training since Sec 3; first two games averaged 120, and finally I bowled something decent at the third game.

This is campus green at Laselle, I somehow like the environment alot here. It’s fake grass and the uncle is mopping it on a Saturday morning..

Went for dinner with my family over the weekend, headed out to this joint at Parkway. Have to say that the service is just “fast-food” style, but the food is quite value for money. =)

This is my EIS project group.. All of them are soooo shy….

SAM always updates the exhibit at it’s porch. The theme for this week is study desk… Maybe the folks at SAM knows it’s week 7 coming up at SMU too..

My colleague (Dr. Shi Jie) and I were rushing a paper for a submission to a ACM journal and we finally decided to take a break at 2.30am to go grab some supper before going back to our lab to work on it. Are all these taxis coming to pick us up? hehe…

Supper for the night at Hanis; it’s famous fried rice and black-forest cake.. The counter girl was cute. She served us two cakes, both different size, then she started laughing to herself saying
Girl: hehe.. different size leh.. (about 3 cm difference)
Darren: I don’t wan… change.. i want bigger piece…
Girl: hehehe… ok.. hehee… *brings darren new cake*
Darren : thankew
But when I bring it back to the table, it’s still about 2cm smaller than Shi Jie’s. =(

My breakfast for some morning: Rochor tau huay and Portugese Egg-tart

Went to a cafe nearby to do my readings. Long black as usual.. Today the girl asked me “do you stay around here.. I see you so often”. =_= See me often still ask me isit student and never give me discount as I’m not a Laselle student.
=( =( =(
I need to have some friends from Laselle…. Anyone from Laselle want to make friends with me?

Bored in the lab, so I decided to take a picture of my Elmo pencil case. Shi Jie’s wife visited today and she was so excited about my cute little Elmo.. Wait till she seees 小白

My supper for tonight. It looks like “mash-up”, hongkong style. But it was surprisingly nice.. The only reason I ordered this was because it was one of the cheapest things on the menu. $_$
I’m suspecting that the IT industry adapted the mashup idea from Hongkong’s street food
Oh yeah.. I went to attend a talk by Dr. John Seely Brown (http://www.johnseelybrown.com/) at the Civil Service College this afternoon. Met some friends from IDA (actually only one. haha…) and SIS Dean Steve Miller (who was surprised to see me there) & his colleges.
I was very hardworking taking notes during this session and JSB is really brilliant. Will upload the notes soon (when I find the time).
