This morning was a super rushed one for me as I had a few deadlines that were due by noon and had about 30+ pages of readings to complete before 7pm! Adding on to this I had a 8.30am meeting with two new team members for a business process project; Arthur and Penelope (yes, her name is damn unique).

Miraculously I somehow managed to finnish 3 deadlines + 1 meeting + 1 long phone conference call by 1145 am! What an achievement right? To reward myself, Arthur and Penelope was very nice to accompany me to Clark Quay to savor this Bak Kut Teh (map) opposite Central Mall (map).

Introducing Arthur and Penelope…

All these photos are taken and editing using my iPhone, so it’s abit cui… Sorry…

I’m really excited, because this is the first time I am drinking Chinese tea at a Bak Kut Teh place… I know very sua ku, but…. It was damn fun…. I think this is called “ya pian” or duno what pian.

Oh my… Look at these small cups… Must drink how many cups then can quench my thirst? I NEED TO ATTEND TEA APPRECIATION CLASS!

Woops… It’s called 香片 (xiang pian), not ya pian… Just remembered ya pian is some drug.. hahaa…

Arthur’s steady hands…

This is the “first round tea”, which technically is not good for drinking. Arthur said the first round must pour away, after that then can drink, so not so bitter.

OOoh… Look at my deliciously yummy Bak Kut Teh… Yummy… The soup can refill for free.. Free的!

Notice? It does not come with 油条 (you tiao). So if you want, please order it as a side-order. I have to say this play is quite decently priced (SGD 10 each) for the location and quality of food. I highly recommend this place and founder’s bak kut teh if you want to host your foreign friends to a local feast.
After that, I went back to office to collect my Gmarket delivery… Yay! Finally after 6 weeks… Guess what? To make up for the late delivery, they gave me two small bottles of perfume which I gave to my nicest group mates. ![]()
Friday was a short day at work with a post-christmas ‘cum’ pre-new year lunch at work for our division, with our Senior Director and CEO joining in the games too.
It was very nice knowing many new colleagues from other departments, as I would otherwise have little interaction with them.
Went to Jeric Salon @ Ion to re-setyle my hair after work before meeting with Candace for a catch-up which was supposed to happen at the beginning of december. Candace looked even thinner than before..![]()
Wanted to go to Menya Shinchan Japanese Noodle Restaurant for dinner (the second time in december) only to find out that this time round, it has closed down. We settled for this Mexican place along Clark Quay instead.

We had Fried Jalapenos with Cheese for the starters… Caught Candace in this shot by surprise.

She requested I retake one with her posing properly. I still thinking the natural one is prettier.

Awww… Look at that Cheese…
Looks are really deceiving….
The last time I had this at East Coast, it was smaller and less-spicy. The ones here is simply too spicy; Candace and I gave up trying after braving two pieces.

my burrito chicken topped with Melted Cheese

Candace’s dinner. Can’t remember what it is called.. Candace, if you are reading this, please post in comments…

The mexican meal was really filling, and after 1+ hour, we still can’t seem to finnish the entire meal.We went for coffee after dinner at this HK place at Liang court after that. Have to say that the food is quite dissapointing, but credits to them for the brilliant location picking skills and bright furnishing which led me in.

I decided to club alone that night, thus went to Zirca after sending Candace to the cab.
When I looked at this (China Dolly) from across the road, I thought there was police checks, only to see the “full house” sign when I walked closer.
Don’t know why this place is always so popular;shall go there the next time to have a look…
Zirca all prepared for New Year’s Eve party the next day…

As usual, NS boys always stand-out with their beanies and botak-heads… Seems that the NSFs who come to ZIRCA are more polite than those who always end up picking fights at Zouk.

Ang-mo dancers whom I think were paid to dance that night to lead the crowd to a high that night…

Surprising I stayed all the way till 4.30am…
I’ve been clubbing for so long that even when I club alone, I will somehow bump into friends… -_-
I’ve to say that the music for the night was really great!!!
Oh my.. I still haven’t post photos from last tuesday’s awesome dinner.. Keep a lookout!
After sleeping my entire sunday away, I’m proud to announce that I’m back and kick-in after being missing in actions for the past 18 days. Although my job was quite stress-free, but the fact that I’ve multiple commitments (teaching, preparing proposal for project tenders, preparing project proposals, helping friend edit their website, playing aunt agony, and the list goes on), made my past weeks especially tiring.

My original plan to go back to Taiwan (I’m Singaporean, but I love Taiwan so much that I always joked with friends that I’m a Taiwanese born and bred in Singapore -_-) was interrupted by work commitments this december; probably I will visit Taiwan in April next year instead. But guess what!!! Many of my friends are visiting Taiwan this december, and Xue Ling got me this bigger sized Rabbit Pig stuffed toy, than the one I had hanging on my bag. Ain’t she sweeeeeet? ![]()

For the past 5 years that I’ve been doing corporate training (yes, although I can be a little “himbo” sometimes, but I do have brains ok! haha), I’ve to say my students in December 2011 were the sweetest!!! This lovely box of Ferrero is from JiaHui, a very lovely and hardworking and passionate girl from my final class for the year.

Introducing my hairstylist - Kai Ting, the Director of Jeric Salon Ion. As some of you might already know, I’m quite particular about my hair; and I’ve to say that I’m really fortunate to be offered a hair sponsorship by Jeric Salon for the past 12+ months. What I liked about Jeric Salon (yes, I used to be a paying customer at Jeric Salon for 3+ years before I was offered the hair sponsorship) is the good service and the easy to maintain, yet stylist cuts. I will begin writing more about the hair culture in my coming posts.. STAY TUNED!!!

My hair color until Saturday, very korean pop kind of color. I am kind of bored of this color and since the roots are darkening, I decided it’s time to get a new color

My new awesome hair color (it’s blue-ish ash) recommended by Kai. To get this color, first the hair needs to be bleached at various intensities at different parts of the hair, and the dye was applied to only the top and bottom layer, so that the middle layer is still gold, creating an awesome color contrast.

My bad that I went by the Salon too late thus we only ended at about 9.30. We (Kai and I) originally wanted to go to this really famous Ramen place, but by the time we reached there, it closed. In the end, we settled for this pretty nice japanese place (Tamo something. Can’t really remember the name of the place) at Clark Quay after doing my hair.

My little fish + garlic + plum rice & miso soup. Although the portion is not too big, but it is really tasty. I don’t mind eating this on a daily basis. Inexpensive, and healthy.

Kai’s curry udon. I think it was too spicy for him. Can tell that he didn’t really like it, but he still finished it up, not wanting to waste food.

A very special mushroom salad with half-boiled egg. This is my favorite dish for the night.

Unagi Eel with special rice-cake. It tastes really good when you just put the whole thing in your mouth. Awww…

What is a Japanese meal without Chawamushi? hahaha… Somehow I thought the taste is very similar to that of Sushi Tei. I still prefer the one at Itacho-Sushi.

I’ve been planning on painting my room since after O levels (yr 2003) and I eventually bought the paint after poly (yr 2007) while waiting to enter national service (NS). But… The bucket of paint is still in my store rooom…
Finally got more motivated to refresh my room and went to buy some pain (uh.. I mean paint) yesterday, together with some accessories. Ok… But it’s definitely going to take more than one day for me to complete the painting since I need to reconstruct all my furniture to fit the new room design I have in mind. Will post the DIY process in due time when it’s completed.
Mom’s ex-colleague came over yesterday to buy us dinner. Duno why too, maybe because he just got bonus. hahaha…
The soccer field from my house… Even recreational teams now are so organized…
Why do they give us green chili when we are eating fish-head curry?
Maybe it’s part of the table decoration or their “business process”. hahahaa…
The food took forever to come and I was bored, so I began snapping away…
The yummy curry fish-head. Guess what, we brought our own bread, cos they do not sell not provide… wierd… ![]()
They ran out of prawns.. So we had oatmeal chicken instead of oat meal prawns.. wtf moment…
Yummy eggplant that tastes better than it looked…
Went to Robertsons Walk with Dr Divyan (Phd. Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and Kailash (MSc.Engineering, New York State University) from our research group this afternoon. Divyan said that Indians get dark under the sun, while Chinese only get pink; at first I thought he was joking. hahahaha….
We went to Liang Court en-route because I wanted to draw some money, but it turned out that I had quite some money in the wallet and Divyan went to draw money instead. -_-
Some hot towels before the meal
Kailash only had milk in the morning, so was felling very hungry….
Coding is poetry as proclaimed by wordpress… But Ramen is art as proclaimed by the owner of this restaurant.
The sake bar in the restaurant
My usual Spicy Pork Bone Ramen (Rich), no 17 on the menu
Yummy… Additional Charsiew serving for me…
Kailash’s super veggy ramen.. hahahahaa… meh meh 吃草… ![]()
Yummy…. Just in case you’re wondering where is this place?
